Speaking and Listening
Speaking and Listening is the first stage of becoming literate and so is highly valued at Trinity Primary. We believe that if you cannot say it, you most certainly cannot write it.
We do not teach speaking and listening as a discreet subject but ensure it forms a part of all learning sessions. Children are often given the opportunity to use drama or articulate their thoughts to the class. We are also proud of the numerous opportunities children have to practice their speaking and listening skills in front of an audience at Trinity. Pupils are encouraged to take part in Nativities, speak in whole school worships, and at our trips to our local Parish Church, St Swithun's.
