This half term, the children started with mark making and they practised pressing harder and softer with their pencils, crayons and pastels to create darker and lighter tones on the page. Next, they experimented with Paul Klee's concept of drawing being the process of taking a line for a walk. They enjoyed using watercolours to fill in the various shapes they created accross their page. After this, they enjoyed learning about the Brazilian artist, Romero Britto and re-creating his artwork in a directed draw splitting their art page into four sections and using the lines as guidelines for their drawing, pastels, chalk and water. In the last two weeks of term, the children created their final art piece of this term, abstract drawings in the style of Pablo Picasso...well done year two!
