Our science curriculum covers the three main areas of learning as set out in the new national curriculum: life & living processes (biology), materials (chemistry) and physical processes (physics). We pride ourselves on giving children the opportunity to explore for themselves  and much of our science learning is undertaken through investigations. One of the highlights of the year is our annual Science Fair as well as plenty of trips outside of the classroom, including the local park, Eltham environmental Centre and the Science Museum.

When planning and assessing the science curriculum, teachers use the attached documents, which lay out the expectations for children for each strand of learning in each year group. We assess each objective half termly and have one investigative skill as a focus during this time. All objectives are taken from the science national curriculum.
